In the past few years, Instagram has quickly become the go-to social network. And if you think it’s just middle and high schoolers are the ones using the app, think again: Pew Research Center reported in 2015 that 26% of adult internet users use Instagram. Compare that with the 23% of adult internet users who use Twitter.

Not only do adults use instagram, 53% of adults ages 18–29 years old say they use it every single day.

These tips and tricks will change the way your educational, faith-based, health and other charitable nonprofit organization uses Instagram to tell its story – saving you time and giving you more control over your bio and tagged photos. Thanks, Hubspot!

Our favorites: #10 Approve photos before they show up in your profile. Perfect for engaging supporters and encouraging supporter generated content with the ability to review posts first.

#13 Drive traffic to an external website using photo captions. Clickable URLs aren’t allowed anywhere except in the “website” line of your org’s bio. Frequently update this “website” link with your latest mobile-first donation form’s URL and include a call-to-action in the caption like “Become a virtual ambassador or donate today! (link in our profile)”

Bonus Instagram Tips from MobileCause: In addition to #13 on Hubspot’s list, include a sign or add text over your image that includes your campaign keyword, shortcode & call-to-action.

You can also share supporter-generated content on your other social channels by copying and pasting the link by selecting Copy Share URL.
