Connect To Everything You Need with a Mobile-friendly Online Form

Casey Hopkins, a Mass Communication Specialist Seaman with Navy Public Affairs wrote an article for 13NewsNow.com on the amazing work Dogs on Deployment is doing to ensure the pets of military servicemen and women are well taken care of while they are away on deployment. Dogs on Deployment: Connecting military pets with temporary homes

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Petty Officer 1st Class Carl LaToore and his miniature dachshund, Rocky, have been separated by over 5,000 miles of land and sea for six months. Just as the sun was setting at Chesapeake City Dog Park Feb. 17, the two were reunited, thanks to Dogs on Deployment.

DoD is a non-profit organization founded in June of 2011 by Navy and Marine Corps couple, Lt. Shawn Johnson and his wife, Capt. Alisa Johnson.

DoD has since grown into a nationwide organization, with hundreds of volunteers that not only house military pets when the pets’ owners are deployed, but also help at community and military events, work at speaking engagements or help out behind the scenes at their offices.
