Get ready for a tail waggin’ good time at DogFest Walk ‘n Roll Vail Valley in Edwards, the signature national event of Canine Companions for Independence. The community is invited to grab a leash and join the nonprofit on July 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Freedom Park in Edwards for lots of fun and family-friendly activities as Canine Companions for Independence raises money to provide highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities.

Canine Companions for Independence provides assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities — such as spinal cord injuries, autism, amputations and deafness — completely free of charge. The canine companions also serve professionals in facilities that assist children, adults and veterans in their recovery.

DogFest Fundraising Fun

Canine Companions for Independence does a very good job on their website of providing their supporters all the information they need to start their own DogFest Walk ‘n Roll.

To make it easy for people to help, they provide tools and information on fundraising ideas, sample emails and social media guide, even a donation tracking form to keep track of on-site donations during the event and to refer to when thanking donors.

Improve Engagement with Dynamic Event Fundraising

Depending on a hand written form to capture and track vital fundraising information can work, but is certainly not the most efficient way to do it. A better, and less time-consuming way to keep track of donations and easily recognize donors is with mobile communications and a fundraising thermometer that displays donation amounts and donor names in real-time on-screen like on a tablet your staff and volunteers can carry around at your event wherever they go.

A dogfest is a great way to raise awareness and funds for your cause during the summer months, when people are looking for outdoor activities to fill their free time.  These fun events are also not restricted to animal-related organizations. You can bring together dog-lovers who are interested in helping your nonprofit, whether you’re fundraising for your school, charity, church or performing arts center.

Mobilize Your Dog Lovers

The best way to maximize the results of your dogfest event is to make it easy for dog loving donors on the go to give to your cause.   Text to donate is an easy way to collect donations and full donor information for your attendees’ mobile phones or from other supporters unable to make it to your event. Keywords can be set up in no time and once your donor makes their gift, they can easily promote your cause and event across social media.

Encourage your dogfest event supporters to set up their own crowdfunding pages to raise donations on your behalf from their network of family, friends and colleagues then further share with others via text, email and social media.

Set up branded and mobile integrated donation forms for your next event to receive 38% larger gifts.
