13 buff emergency responders cheerfully posed with fans and signed calendars as part of the FDNY Foundation’s goal to raise more than $150,000 to help spread awareness for fire safety, according to the organization’s executive director Jean O’Shea.
The firefighters turned calendar models told amNewYork they are glad that being featured helps to spark interest in the foundation’s cause. “Being in the calendar is just putting a face to the job that we do,” Kismartovi Mejia of Engine 314 said.
All of the calendar proceeds, and a portion of merchandise proceeds, will benefit the FDNY Foundation.
FDNY 2016 Calendar Will Hang Around All Year Long
Calendar sales are a long-standing traditional method of fundraising that can generate high profits. Surprisingly, a wall calendar industry survey showed 80% of people have at least one printed calendar at home.
Being able to schedule your life on paper is still a $1.4 billion (BILLION!…with a ‘B’) industry. One that shares it’s largest spike in sales with the most generous day of the year – December 31st.
Whether you’re selling calendars as a fundraiser or using them as Thank You gifts for donors, your supporters are sure to remember you all year long when they see your organization’s logo or images month after month.
Make a Difference with Your Own Calendar Fundraiser
Just like the FDNY 2016 Calendar will do for NYC firefighters, your organization can reap great benefits because promotional calendars make quite an impact!
- 74% remember the advertiser
- 72% remember the message/mission
- 71% of respondents have done business with the person or company (We’re willing to bet this stat is higher for nonprofits and donation rates!)
Last, and certainly not least, 41% refer friends and family to the person or company featured on the calendar (We’ll double our bet on this stat too.)
Traditional fundraisers are easier to manage when you incorporate mobile giving options. Mobile friendly donation forms or credit/debit card swipers automate the payment process while securely and directly transferring funds to your nonprofit organization.
