Thanking Donors on May the Fourth and Beyond!
This is not the first time the Star Wars team has thanked their fans for supporting worthy causes. Back in 2014, they produced another engaging video to thank fans who donated to UNICEF through their Force For Change initiative. The video, which was shared across multiple social media channels including YouTube, simply showed cast and crew members saying thank you while providing fans behind the scenes sneak peak into the upcoming Force Awakens film.
Making sure that you connect a very personal level is one of the keys to creating an effective Thank You video. To thank corporate sponsor SAP, the Tyler Robinson Foundation captured the real-life stories of Tyler Robinson and other kids battling cancer accompanied by music from the organization’s co-founder, the band Imagine Dragons.
Summary: Thanking donors for their support is a basic, but crucial element to securing your organization’s success because donors who feel appreciated are more likely to give again. Plus videos are highly shareable across all social channels. Links to your Thank You videos can be sent via text message to donors after a major fundraising campaign or at any time you want to help your own “fans” feel appreciated for the support they provide to keep your mission going.
