Having a mobile strategy is a no brainer. Your supporters use mobile phones for talking, texting, emailing, watching videos, looking at pictures, searching the web, making purchases and interacting on social media. Most people have their mobile phone within reach 24/7 365 days a year (Always Connected, IDC report).
Mobile Strategy #1 – Keep People Passionate and Engaged with Mobile Communications
Mobile strategy for communications ensure that your content is seen by all of your subscribers. Messages take a fraction of the time it takes to send an email and post on social media (see below-1b). Choose a subscription keyword (example COR) and promote it as the most convenient way to stay connected (see below-1a). Keywords should be less than 7 characters and easy to type. Once an individual texts your keyword they are subscribed to receive ongoing messages.
Mobile Strategy #2 – Peer to Peer Fundraising over Text, Email and Social Media
Organizations can conveniently raise donations through staff and volunteer networks. From a mobile phone, tablet or computer, individuals can go to to your website and set up personal fundraising pages. Each fundraiser gets their own custom webpage (see below-2b) with a donation link and keyword. Add a peer to peer fundraising setup form to your website (see 2a) and promote it as the best way for people to raise donations. Mobile strategy ensures donations are 100% secure.
Mobile Strategy #3 – Supporters Make Donations and Set up Recurring Gifts
Never before has it been easier for organizations to gain new donors with a mobile strategy. People can give from their mobile phone by sending a text message. Choose a text to donate keyword (see below-3a) and promote it as the most convenient way to make a donation and set up recurring gifts. Once an individual texts your keyword they immediately receive a link to your donation page (see below-3b). People who do not click the link receive 3 text message reminders and can be followed up with a voice call.
Mobile Straegy #4 – Strengthen Events with Interactive Real-Time Recognition
Event fundraisers can see who has given, how much has been raised, and what percentage of attendees have become donors in real-time. Choose an event fundraising keyword and set up your fundraising thermometer. Attendees who text the keyword followed by a pledge amount and name (see below-4a) will be recognized on-screen in real-time (see below-4b). Individuals are inspired by the speaker and the excitement in the room to work together to reach the event goal.
Mobile Strategy #5 – Make It Easy To Go Online and Donate From Any Device
The majority of people who visit your website do so from a mobile device. It is essential to your mobile strategy that donate buttons link to giving forms that are mobile, tablet and pc friendly (see below-5a). Online giving pages should be branded to reinforce the intention of the gift and suggested donation amounts, recurring gift options and custom fields for data collection are extremely important.
