Challenge
Focused on cultivating and teaching curriculum to build the spiritual foundation for young men, Narrow Gate Foundation did not have the time nor the resources to create a text message campaign using best practices. They needed to increase funding and engage more donors in order to pay for events like their Appalachian Mountain trail hike. Coming up on ‘The Day of Giving’, Narrow Gate decided to contact MobileCause to increase participation and donation for their ‘Big Payback 2017’ event.
Solution
MobileCause’s Digital Marketing Services (DMS) stepped in, they began by creating a text message strategy for the ‘Day of Giving’ campaign. The DMS team created both the messages to be sent and the schedule of when to send them. The ‘Big Payback 2017’ text message campaign began on April 19th and ran until May 9th. Carefully crafted engagement messages were sent out in the first weeks of the campaign. As ‘The Day of Giving’ approached, more messages were sent out explaining to donors how $100 could change a life. Seeing how much $100 could do in the life of a young man, people began understanding how impactful a donation could be. The forward-thinking DMS team also wanted to set up Narrow Gate for future success, so they set-up campaign reporting to capture important donor info.

Impact
The Digital Marketing Services solution proved to be fantastic for engagement and increasing donations! Just through text messaging, Narrow Gate Foundation was able to reach 8x as many people in 2017 as opposed to 2016, but that was not all. The average gift size jumped from $65 to $270 and the event ended up generating 10x more in total donations! With this massive increase in funding, Narrow Gate was able to improve the lives of the youths that they care for.
