Challenge
Hosting many volunteer events, with thousands of volunteers from both companies and local groups, Volunteers of America’s (VoA) Northern California and Northern Nevada branch wanted a way to expedite the sign-in process and enrich the volunteer experience.
Solution
To effectively streamline the sign-in process, VoA enlisted the help of text communications. They empowered their volunteers to text VOAtour to 51555 to receive an immediate text with the information needed to sign-in. MobileCause created a custom mobile-friendly “sign-in” form which was easily filled out on their mobile device in real-time. This new functionality facilitated a process that often had daunted the staff at VoA and required more time and effort to accomplish traditionally.
Impact
This resulted in a much easier sign-in process and helped VoA save money and staff time by having quickly exportable data for their CRM system to be used for variety of volunteer communications. Additionally, this solution saved time for their volunteers by eliminating wait time in lines and manual form completion. By integrating this process for all their volunteer events it has resulted in a network of supporters that can easily interact with VoA, with a growing list of supporters consisting of 3,362 people and counting!
