Wilmington College’s mission is to educate, inspire and prepare each student for a life of service and success. When they launched their first social media fundraising campaign on #GivingTuesday, they were looking for a powerful method to engage and motivate alumni and students to help meet their goal of $5,000.


Wilmington College decided to promote their campaign in two easy ways for donors to make mobile gifts: to text a keyword, or to click a shortlink to a mobile-friendly customized donation page. To enhance their online efforts, Wilmington also displayed a fundraising thermometer showcasing real-time donations on the a screen for all to see.


The one-day Giving Tuesday campaign raised more than $5,700 and, after three automated text message reminders, 98% of pledges had been fulfilled. With their continued use of MobileCause they have raised $210,000 online and gained 605 new donors.
